Momentum continues to grow among American television viewers for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, as a second consecutive race this season enjoyed a big ratings boost.

FOX Sports’ broadcast of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear attracted 1.061 million viewers Sunday, June 1, an increase of 75 percent over the 608,000 viewers for the race in 2024. It’s the most-watched Detroit race since 2021, and the audience peaked at 1.201 million viewers from 2:30-2:45 p.m. ET, when Kyle Kirkwood of Andretti Global drove to victory.

That strong increase continues the momentum from FOX’s initial broadcast of the Indianapolis 500, which drew 7.08 million viewers Sunday, May 25. That’s the most-watched edition of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” since 2008 and more than a 40 percent increase over the 2024 broadcast.

INDYCAR and FOX Sports are in the first year of a broadcast partnership that is delivering dramatic gains in exposure for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone. All 17 races in the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule are televised on FOX network, the only major premier motorsport in the United States with exclusive major broadcast network coverage for all its races.

Through seven races this season, INDYCAR on FOX is averaging 2.173 million viewers per race, an increase of 31 percent from 2024.

The next race is the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, June 15 on FOX and the FOX Sports app from World Wide Technology Raceway. The Father’s Day broadcast is the first-ever scheduled primetime network NTT INDYCAR SERIES race on a Sunday night.
