ECR pulled the covers March 25 from the No. 33 SlimFast Special that team co-owner Ed Carpenter will drive in the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

Carpenter will attempt to make his 23rd career start in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” in the Chevrolet-powered entry (photo, top) as the only driver-owner in the field. His best career finish is second in 2018, the same year he earned his third Indy 500 pole. He also qualified first in 2013 and 2014.

“There is always so much motivation to win the Indianapolis 500, both for myself as a driver and for ECR as a whole,” Carpenter said. “I’ve been fortunate to run this race many times now, but it means a little more every time you get the chance to compete in it. To represent SlimFast, AES Indiana, and many other Indiana partners is something I take a lot of pride in.”

Sponsors include SlimFast, a trusted protein and meal replacement brand; and AES Indiana, Indianapolis’ primary retail electric service provider.

The No. 33 entry also will support Hoosier charitable organizations HATCH and Riley Children’s Foundation. HATCH, which connects farmers and protein producers to food-insecure individuals and families through food banks, will be the Official Hunger-Relief Partner of ECR. The Riley Children’s Foundation, a longtime ECR partner, is Indiana’s leading foundation dedicated to supporting children’s health.

Full-time ECR drivers Alexander Rossi and Christian Rasmussen will join Carpenter in ECR’s three-car lineup at Indianapolis.
